Project Background

When the University of Pittsburgh needed to add railings to the exterior of the Cathedral of Learning, they selected Colin Carrier and his London Pattern studio. To preserve the character and historic significance of the building, these new railings were crafted in the style of Samuel Yellin, the famed turn-of-the-century blacksmith who created all of the original metwork for this landmark building on the University's campus.
